Alright, ladies! Even though we are barely into 2009, it is not too early to think about what you want to get your Valentine! How about a collection of images that show you at your most feminine, confident, and beautiful? Our b-sessions were a huge success over the Christmas holiday and we are super-excited about offering the same for Valentine’s Day!

We realize that there aren’t many photographers in the Louisville Metro area who offer B-sessions, so let’s take a moment to explain the session a bit! You know you’re wondering what it involves, right?

What is a B-Session?

Boudoir photography (also called “For His Eyes Only”) is the beauty of your curves and sensuality–whether you are in jeans and a t-shirt, a gorgeous piece of lingerie, or a beautiful silk bed sheet, you are a true glamour girl! And you can go as far as you want when it comes to the clothing (or lack thereof). Most clients bring everything from jeans to lingerie to one of HIS shirts. And don’t forget flirty shoes and jewelry! We assure you that the finished product is a beautiful collection of images that he is sure to love for a lifetime! And it doesn’t matter if you aren’t the perfect body type–this is a time to celebrate yourself and show that confidence! You are worth it!

Why should I do a B-Session?

The art form has really become popular again because it makes a woman feel beautiful. Women are now embracing their individual beauty, strength, and femininity. To be able to celebrate that and to give your partner in life such an intimate, personal, beautiful gift of yourself is something that they really love. Plus, it’s incredibly empowering to the b-session client! You can push the envelope and take a step into a completely different part of your personality! Wouldn’t you love to feel like a Victoria’s Secret model for a couple of hours?

And remember–a boudoir session isn’t just for Valentine’s Day. It is also a perfect wedding day, anniversary, birthday, or “just because” gift for the love of your life! We recently did several sessions for Christmas gifts–I will share our clients’ comments later!

What’s so different about the Monarch Photography B-Session?

We are a husband and wife team (during this session, Jon does the photography while I handle the backdrops, posing, and attention to hair, make-up, and clothing). This means that we work together to make you feel comfortable and look incredible! We have a wide array of backdrops, furniture, drapes, etc. to give your images a range of soft and classic to edgy and modern.

And because we want you to look perfect (and I know that, as women, we all can find a problem area since we tend to be super-critical of ourselves), we take the time to FULLY re-touch every single image and provide you with a complete set of retouched proofs. Remember–those models in those fashion magazines are re-touched! You even get a completely private, password-protected online viewing and ordering gallery plus print credit to use toward an album, DVD slide show, etc!

Jonathan and I truly believe that our shooting style for a boudoir session sets us apart from the rest. We encourage our b-clients to bring a friend with them (most clients bring a sister or friend, but you are more than welcome to come on your own) and I also assist in the planning of the outfits, hair, and make-up before our clients arrive at our home studio. We are both in the shooting room at all times with our client (and their friend is welcome to be as well) and we pride ourselves in being sensitive, discreet, and trustworthy. We know that it takes a lot of guts for a photo session like this–and our clients leave our home studio commenting on how fun the session was and how glad they are that they did it!

We work together with our clients to create a collection of gorgeous images–from attention to detail to the final re-touching, we feel that we go the extra step to make sure that a b-session is not only the perfect gift for a client’s special someone, but also an empowering, wonderful experience for the client herself!
